Course Description

Advance your metalsmithing skills to design jewelry or small objects. Building on the knowledge in Jewelry Design I, students will learn complex fabrication techniques and have an introduction to advanced surfacing methods. Core techniques will be covered including torch-fire enameling, etching, patina, prong setting, and finishing/polishing methods. Students have the opportunity to pursue personal projects with guidance from the instructor. While this course is recommended for those who have taken Jewelry Design I, students who have prior knowledge may alternatively use this course to pursue a studio project with guidance from instructor expertise.
