XCHL8058 - Storytelling, Movement, and Shadow Puppets: Ages 11-13

Course Description

Students will learn shadow puppet creation techniques, puppet movement techniques, and story creation techniques, and students will perform a short puppet show in the final class. 

Weekly activities:

Week 1: Learn about shadow puppets/ create first shadow puppet (from a template if larger class) 

Week 2: Make one more shadow puppet and make backdrop.

Week 3: Watch a short shadow puppet show and learn about storytelling. Make individual stories for short show.

Week 4: Assemble a shadow prop for the show, and learn puppet movement 

Week 5: Perform the puppet show/ watch other students’ shows!

IMPORTANT:  

All K-12 and Pre-College students are required to complete and return a K-12 and Precollege Mandatory Forms Packet prior to admittance into the classroom. Students will not be permitted to attend without this.
