Course Description

Drawing what’s around you in real life--people, animals, plants, objects--is a skill. Get better at it in this course, which focuses on techniques to help you draw what you see from direct observation.  Through weekly live demos, critiques, discussion, and studio time, students will learn introductory perspective drawing, cross contour, black-and-white still life, highlighting, and shadow to improve their abilities to observe and illustrate. In this 6-week course students will achieve drawing exercises and complete two finished drawings. Students may advance their skills by taking Drawing 2.

- Through weekly Zoom meetings, students will work under the guidance of instructor expertise to achieve their work in a virtual studio environment.
