Course Description

Designing a brochure is a key skill for any versatile graphic designer; using InDesign creates an upper edge to a designer’s design toolkit. In this 5-week short course, students will achieve an 8-page artist brochure (including front cover, back cover, and 6 pages to tell the artist story).

Through demonstrations, in-class exercises, studio time, discussion, and critiques, students will achieve a comprehensive introduction to the essential design tools in InDesign, while gaining hands-on practice with creating a finished brochure.

Students will choose a subject, source content, apply a grid system, and complete a digital file that may be used for print and online distribution (PDF).

- Through weekly Zoom meetings, students will work under the guidance of instructor expertise to achieve their work in a virtual studio environment.

- Note: this course does not provide certificate credit.
