Course Description

Design an original 3D toy—from initial concept to final product. In this interactive class, students are immersed in the execution process of building an actual toy using their creativity, design skills, 3D digital tools and technology. Techniques include basic 3D Modeling skills using Rhino; rendering and applying color using cheap and accessible online tools. Under the guidance of instructor expertise, students will meet weekly through Zoom and will ultimately prepare a digital file that will be 3D printed. In addition to a visit from an Otis College Admissions Counselor, this course may include one to two guest speakers from the field of toy design.

This class is open to all levels. Students who completed Toy Design: precollege can advance their skills within 3D modeling.

This course is being offered in partnership with PVNet.

IMPORTANT:

All K-12 and Pre-College students are required to complete and return a K-12 and Precollege Mandatory Forms Packet prior to admittance into the classroom. Students will not be permitted to attend without this.
