XSCP1637 - Experimental Sculpture

Course Description

This is not a traditional sculpture course, this is a challenging course that will encourage you to think outside “your” box. Whether you are a beginner or intermediate level, this course supports artists in developing sculptural work with intention.  Key considerations include site, scale, form,  function, materials and the viewer. Through assignments, students develop and refine sculpting techniques in their medium of choice. Projects include modifications of their own sculpture creations through chance design implementation as well as mistake enhancement and incorporation. 

Note:
- The course includes a blend of 50% campus and 50% online meetings. Campus sessions include demonstrations and exercises; online sessions include critique and multimedia viewing.
