Course Description

This course will provide an in-depth study of how to photograph food. Topics include lighting techniques, composition, equipment, food styling, and editorial versus commercial food photography, and working with chefs to understand plating skills. Through demonstration, discussion, critique, and studio time, students will enhance their visual communication skills, and push critical thinking about their work. They will be introduced to various food photography styles, and create their own photographs that use technical and stylistic approaches to this genre of photography.
