Course Description

Indigo Shibori is the ancient Japanese art of resist dyeing using various binding, twisting, wrapping, tying and stitching techniques to achieve unpredictable and gorgeous results on fabric. In this interactive 3-hour workshop, students will learn shibori inspired techniques with fiber reactive dyes or indigo, a process which students can use for their own textiles from a home studio. Demonstrated techniques will include several different shape resist techniques, such as kumo and itajime.

Notes:
- Through Zoom, students will work under the guidance of instructor expertise to achieve their work in a virtual studio environment.
