XSRF4028 - Stencil Silkscreen at Home

Course Description

In this interactive 3-hour workshop, students apply methods for hand cut stencils adapted to silkscreen patterns and textiles. Through demonstrations, students learn how to work with shapes cut out of freezer paper; apply color to the screen; coat the screen and pull prints; and print onto paper or fabric. Discussion topics include various applications to the techniques and shared examples of collaged screen printing works. The focus of the workshop will be techniques that can be accomplished from a home studio.

- Through Zoom, students will work under the guidance of instructor expertise to achieve their work in a virtual studio environment.
