XPFP1200 - Drawing Manga: Precollege

Course Description

Do you love watching anime or reading Japanese comic books? You’ll love creating your own manga just as much! Over this 10-week course, students learn all the steps to making a cool mini-manga and tips on what makes a manga different from all other comic books. Students expand their drawing skills with figure drawing, perspective for backgrounds, and visual storytelling principles in action. Instruction also breaks down the smart way to study and develop your own style.
This is a precollege course which warrants one college credit. It includes a visit from an Otis College Admissions Counselor, and may include one to two guest speakers from the field.

Notes:

- Through weekly Zoom meetings, students will work under the guidance of instructor expertise to achieve their work in a virtual studio environment.

- IMPORTANT:  All K-12 and Pre-College students are required to complete and return a K-12 and Precollege Mandatory Forms Packet prior to admittance into the classroom. Students will not be permitted to attend without this.
