Course Description

Explore the intersection of photography and painting through experimental mixed media processes. In this 6-week course, students create a series of works that uses their personal photos, found materials, and acrylic paint on a single surface. They will learn techniques including collage, image transfer, and composition strategies to push their own aesthetics and visual expression. The results will vary, some may be representational, while others will be quite abstracted.

This course is ideal for students who have painted before and are looking to experiment with the possibilities of combining it with other materials.

Notes:

- Through weekly Zoom meetings, students will work under the guidance of instructor expertise to achieve their work in a virtual studio environment. In addition, students take part in select course activities at their own time; course content will be posted on a weekly basis based on the scheduled meeting date.

- IMPORTANT:  All K-12 and Pre-College students are required to complete and return a K-12 and Precollege Mandatory Forms Packet prior to admittance into the classroom. Students will not be permitted to attend without this.
