Course Description

This 6-week course teaches visual design and drawing techniques - color, composition, form, expression - through use of multiple drawing media – graphite, charcoal, ink, collage and colored pastel.  Students learn fundamental drawing skills (contour line, positive/negative space, value, composition, perspective), gain new methods for mixing different media together, and develop their own unique subject matter and imagery to create visually expressive drawings.  Projects introduce traditional and non-traditional approaches to landscape, realism, and abstraction. Working from life, photographs and imagination, students complete 3-5 works on paper and collage.

Notes:

- Through weekly Zoom meetings, students will work under the guidance of instructor expertise to achieve their work in a virtual studio environment. In addition, students take part in select course activities at their own time; course content will be posted on a weekly basis based on the scheduled meeting date.

- IMPORTANT:  All K-12 and Pre-College students are required to complete and return a K-12 and Precollege Mandatory Forms Packet prior to admittance into the classroom. Students will not be permitted to attend without this.
