Course Description

Express yourself creatively through film and video while learning the technical side of digital video production. In this 10-week course, students learn essential skills in video production, including pre-production, how to use a camera and lights, and editing. Through hands-on projects, they explore how to express their ideas through filmmaking and studying both historical and contemporary artworks. Students achieve a one-minute work, that can be narrative/fiction, documentary, or experimental, and that expresses something important to themselves, be it personal or universal. This precollege class provides a unique opportunity to create a distinctive portfolio piece for art college applications. Course includes a visit by an Otis Admissions Counselor.
