Course Description

Develop your abilities in figure drawing and fabric draping by studying the costumed model. Learn how to draw faster through a method of Quick Sketching used by fashion illustrators, costume designers, animators, game designers, etc. Students learn to draw clothing on the human figure while exploring simplified anatomy, movement, proportions, and how various fabrics interact with the human form. Costumes include a variety of period, vintage, and modern cinematic pieces on both Male and Female models. Course covers fashion illustration proportions as well as standard body proportions.

Notes: 

  • IMPORTANT: All SOA students are required to complete and return Summer of Art Mandatory Forms 2024 Packet prior to admittance into the classroom. Students will not be permitted to attend without this.
  • Housing is only available for students who enrolled in Summer of Art Programming for 5 days per week.
  • Tuition includes a non-refundable $200 deposit per course.
