Throughout human existence, art making has been one of the most tangible expressions of our highest aspirations and deepest emotions. All over the world people have mirrored, decorated, critiqued, and even changed society through their creative works. Through hands-on painting exercises students deepen their creative abilities, while exploring significant artistic achievements from prehistory through contemporary times, including the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, Impressionism, Expressionism, and Pop art.

  • Students must be 18+ years of age to enroll.
  • This course includes 30 hours of class time plus at least 15 hours of homework time.
  • All times are listed for Pacific Daylight Time (PDT).
  • Course teaching method: Synchronous
    • Synchronous: Taught through an online learning environment, allowing for the instructor and students to meet during scheduled times. Includes lectures, demos and discussions via Zoom.
