Course Description

If you love cartoons and animated films, this class is tailored for you. Learn the 12 principles of animation and utilize them to create engaging 2D animated videos. Students develop traditional and modern computer animation techniques on pieces beginning with the basic bouncing ball and culminating in a character-driven 2D animated final project. This course covers the basics of storyboarding, character design, staging, timing, weight, and anticipation. Students view and analyze a variety of animated films and videos to aid in studying technique while developing their own animation projects. This fun, interactive course engages students to express their creativity and develop the artistic skills to create eye-catching works of 2D animation.

IMPORTANT: All students enrolled in Youth and Pre-College Courses must submit the following packet of Youth and Precollege Mandatory Forms prior to admittance into the classroom. Students will not be permitted to attend without this.
