Course Description

Student painting from photograph

Selling your artwork or working hourly is not the only way to make money as a creative person. Learn about the opportunities for retaining ownership, licensing, and earning royalties.  This course covers all the ins and outs: art themes, product categories, portfolio requirements, contracts, negotiation, branding, marketing trade shows, publicity, and working with agents. Step-by-step demonstrations include applying for trademarks and copyrights, submitting work to manufacturers, and self-publishing visual content with print-on-demand technology. Students learn the basics of how to get started and develop a strategic plan to license their work.
