Course Description

The Alumni Project Workshop is open to Otis Alumni (qualifying BFA/MFA  Alumni and Extension Students) who can demonstrate proficiency and independence in the lab or shop of choice. The Alumni Project Workshop is a 10-week self-directed program perfect for those looking to develop a concept, perfect a skill/technique, or meet a project deadline. Access schedules are individually structured over the 10 week period. If selected, a notification will be issued within 2 weeks of application. Limited spots will be approved for the following areas:

  • Computer Lab
  • Lab Press
  • Metal Shop
  • Model Shop
  • Printmaking Lab
  • Wood Shop
  • Ceramics Studio
  • Photo Lab
  • Lighting Studio

Qualifications:

  • Open to Otis College BFA/MFA alumni. Extension students who have taken 2 courses in the same discipline as their desired workshop will be considered upon approval of the Faculty/Liaison.

  • Students must have intermediate-level knowledge of shop/lab.

Access Specifications:

  • Alumni enrolled in APW do not have check-in/out privileges of tools and equipment.
  • Lab technicians must be present at all times while enrolled alumni are in the lab. All lab rules and regulations must be adhered to.
