Course Description

Discover the principles and techniques of 3D animation in Maya. Students establish a working knowledge of Maya’s suite of animation tools, as well as build a foundation for approaching both cartoony and realistic animation. Beginning with basic exercises designed to teach proper animation technique and culminating in a final character animation project, students gain an understanding of the tools and techniques required to create eye-catching animation.

  • Instructor's Note: Students computer needs a decent dedicated graphics card (or MAC M1/M2 chip on MAC) and at least 8 GB of RAM memory to run Maya.

    • Synchronous: Taught through an online learning environment, allowing for the instructor and students to meet during scheduled times. Includes lectures, demos and discussions via Zoom.
