Course Description

Want to create more than just pie charts and line graphs? The kind of infographics you’d see in the New York Times? This graphic design course explores visual communication and the fundamental theories and methodologies of design, with historical references to the evolution of infographics. Through project-based learning and instructor guidance, students will develop deeper design skills using industry standard digital tools. Students develop creative design solutions through research and problem-solving while considering context, concept, narrative, audience, and process.

 

Prerequisites

Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator or related vector program.
