Course Description

More and more graphic designers are asked to create social media posts, mainly on Instagram. In this class students learn how to create aesthetically pleasing IG posts and stories (Still photography only; Reels is not taught in this class). Students will get a variety of assignments that will prompt them to develop a concept, find props, and explore different angles to take pictures of a scene. Photos can be made using a cell phone or a professional camera. No other special equipment, such as lights, is needed. By the end of this class students will have 7 to 9 pieces for their portfolio showcasing their ability to art direct. Students will also look at IG accounts and styles of brands that are currently advertising on Instagram.
