Course Description

Lighting is an art form and a key component of creating an interior environment and atmosphere. This course is designed to introduce students to lighting as both a tool and as artistic expression. Topics include technical knowledge of types, products, technology and applications; calculations to determine fixture quantities and
placements; lighting plans; and specifications documentation. A special focus will be utilizing LED Luminaires and its complementary technologies. Students will be assigned exercises and projects that address real-world situations with respect to current energy conservation statutes, mandates and initiatives.
