Course Description

This course supports students to develop portfolio work in painting. A focus is on drawing and painting the human figure from the live model (partially clothed). Emphasis is placed on understanding and depicting the figure as a form in space – while at the same time considering it as an element of the composition. Students explore volumetric drawing with traditional materials as well as acrylic painting techniques. Advanced students can develop alternative subjects with mentorship from the instructor. Guidance is available to students who are preparing portfolios for application to colleges or programs;  Assignments help students build a portfolio repertoire. This course may include a visit from an Otis College Admissions Counselor.

Note:
- IMPORTANT: All K-12 and Pre-College students are required to complete and return K-12 and Precollege Mandatory Forms Packet prior to admittance into the classroom. Students will not be permitted to attend without this.
