Course Description

Drawing is the foundation of all the visual arts. Life drawing is where the concepts and techniques of drawing and design all come together. This course focuses on drawing and painting the human figure from the live model (partially clothed). Emphasis is placed on understanding and depicting the figure as a form in space – while at the same time considering it as an element of the composition. Students explore volumetric drawing with traditional materials as well as acrylic painting techniques. Guidance is available to students who are preparing portfolios for application to colleges or programs;  Assignments help students build a portfolio repertoire. This course may include a visit from an Otis College Admissions Counselor.

Note:

IMPORTANT: All students enrolled in Youth and Pre-College Courses must submit the following packet of Youth and Precollege Mandatory Forms prior to admittance into the classroom. Students will not be permitted to attend without this.
