Course Description

Known for it's characteristic blue, cyanotype is the world's second oldest analog-photo process and one of the easiest and most accessible. Long used for architectural blueprints and graphic reproductions, the process is now being rediscovered by analog enthusiasts and contemporary artists alike. In this course, students create cyanotypes on paper using a variety of methods (drawing, photograms, digital negatives). Every student will have a chance to make a T-shirt and/or tote bag. During the course, students draw inspiration from photo history and contemporary art.
