Course Description

Developed for makers, artists, designers, and inventors, this course provides an immersive introduction into the process of designing and prototyping physical objects. Enhance your capacity to envision while developing fundamental skills of three-dimensional computer-aided design. Learn 3D modeling software and how to output and produce physical prototypes that can be adapted for 3D printing. Develop design thinking skills to creatively realize ideas and solve design problems such as how to design and print a broken part, modify or customize an existing design, or create something entirely new.

- Through weekly Zoom meetings, students will work under the guidance of instructor expertise to achieve their work in a virtual studio environment. In addition, students take part in select course activities at their own time; course content will be posted on a weekly basis based on the scheduled meeting date.

  • This course requires you to have a computer with an internet connection, a camera and mic to participate in an online course setting; ZOOM Web Conferencing App and Autodesk Tinkercad and Blender installed.

  • Synchronous: Taught through an online learning environment, allowing for the instructor and students to meet during scheduled times. Includes lectures, demos and discussions via Zoom.
