Course Description

This introductory course provides a survey of techniques and design foundations central to today’s surface designer production methods. Students are introduced to foundational 2D design and color theory concepts while gaining hands-on practice with tools and techniques. Techniques 1 focuses on hands-on paper art methods that include Collage, Goauche painting, Blockprinting, Botanical Printing, and Cyanotypes. Students end the semester with a personal final project to dive deeper into these techniques.

Note:
- Surface Design Techniques  I, II, and III run concurrently with student cohorts working on unique course content under the guidance of the instructor.
