Course Description

Writing for young readers is exciting and extremely mesmerizing.  All those stories you loved when you were young come together with all those ideas and stories, adventures and episodes that matter to you in your own voice. What excites you about a young person's life can be developed into an adventure or a mystery, even if it's non-fiction, and across every age level of readership, too. In this course, each student's ideas and writing styles will be addressed as all of us go from investigating plot and theme, character development, tension and pacing, narrative and dialogue and letting unique points of view and ideas find their way to the submission process in a publishing house. We'll discuss agents, editors, contracts, and writing groups, and bring each writer more deeply into the world of publishing—how to navigate marketing and book tours—and have a great time along the way.

Notes:
