Course Description

The right brain is creative, artistic, instinctive, and should be followed more often! Based on the method developed by Betty Edwards in her book, Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain, this course is designed for teaching children ages 9–12 the perceptual skills needed to draw realistically. This includes the perception of edge, space, angles, proportion, light, and shadow. Through brief lectures and hands-on exercises, children move beyond symbolic images to drawing what their eyes see.

Included in Course Price: $20 (materials provided by instructor)

IMPORTANT:
• On the first day of class, ALL students must check in with Extension staff in the lobby of the Ahmanson Building before attending class.
• All K-12 and Pre-College students are required to submit a completed K12 Mandatory Forms Packet prior to admittance into the classroom. Students will not be permitted to attend without this.
