Course Description

When Leonardo da Vinci was young, he apprenticed with an older more experienced artist to learn the art trade. This early art experience introduced Leonardo to various materials and techniques: grinding and mixing pigments, learning geometry, mixing of colors, preparing panels, working of clay, and the actual act of painting itself. Using Leonardo Da Vinci’s work as inspiration, students learn the fundamental techniques and principles of art. Topics range from portraiture to scientific discoveries and students will create works based upon these concepts. Students keep an ongoing sketchbook for free drawing and generating ideas during class time.

Notes:

- IMPORTANT:  All K-12 and Pre-College students are required to complete and return a K-12 and Precollege Mandatory Forms Packet prior to admittance into the classroom. Students will not be permitted to attend without this.
