Course Description

With metal clay, ancient jewelry-making meets modern technology. This wonderfully malleable material fuses or “sinters” together when fired in a kiln to become a .999 pure silver object. In this course, students explore metal clay techniques while making bead caps and cones, setting lab-grown gemstones and dichroic glass cabochons, creating hollow beads, and making molds.

Prerequisite: None (Recommended: XJWL3018 Introduction to Metal Clay Workshop)
