Course Description

Get your admissions portfolio noticed. In this course, students bring existing portfolio pieces and works-in-progress and receive one-on-one coaching as they refine and finalize their artwork. This course is taught by Otis instructor, Jeanie Frias (BFA, Otis College), who has taught painting, drawing, and college preparation courses for over 20 years and worked as an Admission counselor for the college. Assignments help students build a portfolio repertoire, write a compelling artist statement, participate in the critique process, and curate their work for final presentation. Artwork can be a range of art and design media including drawing, painting, sculpture, digital art, graphic design, mixed media, and photography. In addition to a visit from an Otis College Admissions Counselor, this course may include one to two guest speakers from the field.

IMPORTANT: All K-12 and Pre-College students are required to complete and return a K-12 and Precollege Mandatory Forms Packet prior to admittance into the classroom. Students will not be permitted to attend without this.
