Course Description

The world of Folk Art is diverse, beautiful and a reflection and outgrowth of wonderful cultures and their individual expressions. Every culture is surrounded by a diverse array of animals and plants which it incorporates into its artistic expressions. Colors, shapes and designs of flora and animals become integral parts of a culture’s unique folk art and are representative of their human spirit. In this course, students are introduced to Folk Art from several countries around the world. They explore how designs and motifs representative of various cultures are used, and they create original art based on wonderful Folk Art expressions.

Note:

  • Materials Fee: A $40 course materials fee is applied on all courses.

  • Optional Extended Care: Summer Camps offer Before & After Care for an additional fee of $50 per time slot. Before Care is available from 7:30-9:00 a.m. and After Care is available from 4:15-6:00 p.m. Please select the appropriate box at checkout.

  • Lunch Supervision Fee: A $75 lunch supervision fee is required for students attending both morning and afternoon sessions.

IMPORTANT:

  • All K-12 and Pre-College students are required to complete and return a K-12 and Precollege Mandatory Forms Packet prior to admittance into the classroom. Students will not be permitted to attend without this.
