Course Description

Ready to take your ceramic practice to the next level? This course is designed for ceramic artists seeking guidance on showing and selling their work. Artists will meet weekly in an open studio format where they can develop their work alongside like-minded individuals in preparation for the Otis College Spring Ceramic Exhibition, which has been extremely successful and historically significant.

This course will run parallel to the B.F.A. Ceramics course taught by renowned ceramicist Joan Takayama-Ogawa with opportunities for feedback as well as collaboration between BFA and Extension students. Artists will also have the opportunity to receive critiques and guidance from a number of guest speakers working within the various fields of ceramics.

Notes:
- Firing (Cone 06 and Cone 5) provided with health and safety measures.
- 50 lbs of clay and access to glazes are included with enrollment of this 10-week course.

Open Lab: An optional Open Lab is available for purchase with this course, which includes an average of four hours per week, with a maximum of 40 hours total for the 10-week term. Payable at checkout.

Prerequisites

Specific coursework required for Certificate Students. All other students should have equivalent experience.
