Course Description

Advance your metalsmithing skills to design jewelry and small sculptural objects. Building on the knowledge in Jewelry Design I, students learn complex fabrication techniques and an introduction to casting and surfacing methods. Core techniques will be covered including torch-fire enameling, inlay, advanced stone setting, casting through wax working. Students have the opportunity to have their wax pieces cast into metal. As a final project, students will design and fabricate a complex piece that brings together multiple methods.
