Course Description

Advance your metalsmithing skills to design jewelry or small sculptural objects. Building on the knowledge in Jewelry Design I, students learn complex fabrication techniques centered around an introduction to casting and stone setting methods. Core techniques will be covered including advanced stone setting, casting through wax working and finishing. Students have the opportunity to have their wax pieces cast into metal and incorporate advanced stone settings in their pieces. Students will design and fabricate a complex piece that brings together cast and fabricated elements.
