Course Description

Discover the possibilities of weaving without "conventional" or expensive looms. Students are exposed to weaving techniques from cardboard and picture frames to PVC pipe, chairs, and branches. This 6-week workshop teaches weaving and loom terminology, planning a project, types of yarn, woven structures, setting up a loom, design options, and a variety of processes from ridged heddle to inkle looms. Students will create a sampler, tapestry, or scarf depending on their skill levels and creative goals.
