Course Description
Urban Sketching and Painting (Morning)
Explore the vibrant world of cityscapes and dive into the art of capturing the energy and details of urban environments. You'll learn techniques for sketching and painting everything from bustling streets and iconic buildings to hidden corners and local scenes. Using a variety of media like watercolors, markers, and pens, you’ll develop your skills in observing and interpreting the city around you. By the end of the week, students will have a collection of dynamic urban sketches and paintings that showcase your unique perspective on city life.
Drawing What I See: People and Things (Still Life and Portraiture) (Afternoon)
Enhance your drawing skills and focus on capturing both still life and portraiture with accuracy and creativity. Students learn how to draw objects, scenes, and people by observing and interpreting the world around them. Through guided exercises, campers practice techniques for creating detailed and expressive drawings of still life setups and portraits. Using various materials like pencils, charcoal, and pastels, you'll develop your observational skills and artistic vision. By the end of the camp, students will have a portfolio of drawings that highlight their ability to see and represent the beauty in everyday subjects.
