Course Description

In this class, students will be introduced to the fundamentals of digital photography and storytelling. While being challenged to think creatively, students will develop a working knowledge of various aesthetics, contemporary and historical techniques, and methods for communicating through photography. This course is designed for beginner students, and those who are interested in improving their skills in technical and conceptual areas of image making. Students will look critically at images to engage in discussion with their peers, while building confidence in sharing personal imagery. At the end of each session, students will have an understanding of the basics of photography and a body of work centered on a particular theme. Digital camera required. Adobe Photoshop subscription highly recommended.
