Course Description

Discover how artificial intelligence is transforming the way designers work. In this hands-on introductory course taught by an entertainment industry veteran, students explore Adobe's AI-powered creative ecosystem using Firefly, Photoshop, and Illustrator. Curious creatives who want to understand how AI tools work, how to incorporate them into a professional design workflow, and what they mean for the future of the industry will leave the course with practical hands-on experience across the full Adobe AI ecosystem and the critical perspective to use these tools thoughtfully and intentionally in their creative practice. No prior AI experience is required.

Prerequisites

Students should have a working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.

Recommended Prerequisite for Certificate Students: Digital Design Tools: Media, Digital Design Tools: Print, or Digital Design Tools: Graphics.

Section Notes

  • Students must be 18+ years of age to enroll.
  • This course includes 30 hours of class time plus at least 15 hours of homework time.
  • All times are listed for Pacific Daylight Time (PDT).
  • Course teaching method:  Synchronous
    • Synchronous: Taught through an online learning environment, allowing for the instructor and students to meet during scheduled times. Includes lectures, demos and discussions via Zoom.
